Resource Highlight: Child Advocacy Center of Pierce County

Thursday, April 20, 2023

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Kids’ Mental Health Pierce County recognizes that all community members have a role in ensuring children have positive experiences and families have the resources they need when they need them, well before they are in crisis. The theme of this year’s awareness and impact campaign that we lead in partnership with our national network of state chapters, is “Building Together: Prevention in Partnership.”

Child abuse and neglect are preventable, and all communities benefit when children and families are well supported. Join us as we highlight the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Pierce County. When child abuse is disclosed, you may wonder where to turn, how the legal process works and how your family will be supported during an investigation. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Pierce County provides a child-focused, safe place for families to get help.

The CAC works in partnership with the Mary Bridge Child Abuse Intervention Department and other organizations to prevent, investigate, prosecute and treat child abuse. They serve children from birth through age 17 who are victims of suspected abuse or neglect and their families.

The CAC is recognized by the National Children’s Alliance and Children’s Advocacy Centers of Washington State.
